Let's Get Ready for a New Year!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Our family did. On Christmas day the kids came over early and we had a little breakfast and opened gifts. Later my brother, Barry, and his daughter Ashley and his granddaughter Brooklyn came up for Christmas Dinner. We really enjoyed getting to visit with them since we don't get together often enough.

As we get older, we realize how precious time is and we need to make time for the important things in life. Especially spending time with family and friends.
On Friday after Christmas we went to the Smoky Mountains! We stayed in a little cabin (house) really close to Pigeon Forge. Friday night we drove around and looked at the Christmas lights. Maclain really enjoyed that! Saturday we looked around the Old Mill and that night went to see The Comedy Barn. The show was funny and we all enjoyed that. Sunday morning we all got ready and had breakfast at the Log Cabin Pancake House. I can recommend the "French Toast Royale"! Cassie told me about it from the last time she visited and I had to try it. It was yummy! Then we went up to Gatlinburg to the Aquarium. We all enjoyed seeing the fish and Maclain really liked going through the tunnel and seeing all the sharks, fish and stingrays! We came home on Monday and are now counting down to the New Year!
We are settled in our new home, and are really loving it here! I am off work this week so I have many little projects ready to tackle. I still have things out in the garage that need to come inside, so hopefully by the weeks end, things will be more settled. I want to do a little more painting and organize closets so we will see how much I get done.
Well, I want to wish everyone a Very HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope that we can all learn to slow down and enjoy every day and learn what the important things in life are.... our family, our friends, and our health. May God Bless you today and every day of the New Year!

Garage Update.... IT IS FULL!

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks because we have been very busy. But we closed on the sale of our house yesterday afternoon and also closed on our new home! The garage is full as we can't move into our new home until Jared and Cassie get to start moving in their new home next week. We are VERY glad we built the garage. Hopefully, this time next week we will be in, maybe not settled, but in. :)

We are so very thankful for the blessings that we have. If you read Cassie's blog you have found out that we have another grandbaby on the way!

Well, I have plenty to get started on, so I pray for each of you to have a blessed day!!

Garage Update!

We are very close to being "finished" with the garage. The building process is complete and we are almost finished with the electrical. David actually turned the power on this evening for the first time! Yeah! He only has to finish installing the flourescent lights and then we can start moving things in.

And we will have to in about 2 weeks because we have a contract on our house and are set to close on Nov. 21st!

The home inspector came yesterday and we have a small list of things to do/repair. We are very thankful that our buyer came along. The timing is just about perfect. Jared and Cassie's new home is still 4-5 weeks out so we may have to bunk with them for a week or two but that's o.k.! Much better than having 2 house payments.... LOL

The beginning of our Garage

This weekend we began on the garage that we are going to build at Jared & Cassie's "current" house. We rented a sod cutter and cut up the "good" sod where the garage will be and moved it to the back yard that didn't have good sod. It was double work, but it will be worth it.

Maclain helped us all day Saturday. After cutting sod, we would start to roll it up and he would take over. When we asked him if he wanted help, he would say... "no, me do it". When pawpaw stopped by the tree and propped his raked, Maclain would prop his rake and lean against the tree just like his pawpaw. It reminds us all that our "little ones" are watching our every move, and they don't miss a thing! :)

We went to see the "tigers"

On Friday, Sept. 5th, pawpaw and I took Maclain with us to Florence to look at some garages and we went by UNA to see "Leo and Una", their lion mascots. They have a very nice facility and Maclain really enjoyed seeing them. They never got up and moved around, but just seeing them was exciting. Maclain told his mom a few days later that "mamaw and pawpaw took me to see tigers, and they weren't scary, and they went ROAR!" We LOVE making memories with Maclain. He is such a blessing and a joy!

Home For Sale!

As many of you know, Jared & Cassie are building a new house with a studio upstairs for Cassie's photography work.
We decided to buy their current house and this evening, we put our house with a real estate agent. I'm getting more excited the closer it gets!
Their house should be finished in about 2 months, or less, so everyone say a little prayer that our house will sell in about 2 months, or less! I'll keep you posted!
Everyone have a great weekend!!

Maclain's Birthday Party!

Today we celebrated Maclain's 3rd Birthday! He had a party with his little friends and family. It was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme and they had a Clubhouse blowup bouncer. The kids really enjoyed that. It was a really special day because his Great Grandmother came. Maclain loved seeing Granny.

After eating lunch, then cake and ice cream, Maclain opened his gifts.

Happy Birthday to our "little man". We Love You!!

1000 Moms Making A Difference!

I want to invite everyone to go to my 1000 moms website and check it out. Some of you may or may not have heard me talk about Neways over the past 10 years. It is a direct selling company that me and David have been a part of since 1998. We have used their products all this time but have not really put in the time and effort to "build a business". Well, now is the time to do that!
Ten years ago you never really heard about "harmful ingredients" in your shampoo, toothpaste, shower gels, etc. but now you probably have. More people are becoming aware. Neways is such a simple business. You are already buying many of their products, but now you just buy them from yourself and earn money! Who wouldn't like that.
Go to my website and check it out.
If it is something that interest you, contact us and we will get you more information!

Retired, Then Back To Work!

Well, my last day at my job with Dr. Bachmann was May 26th. I have been enjoying my beautiful grandson and doing "organizing" projects. I have cleaned out closets and our storage shed (the barn). I have been getting a little bored now and needing more to do.
This week my job came back open so I have decided to go back to it. It is only 2 days a week (Tues and Wed.) so it's really a perfect fit. Oh well.............

How Does This Work?

Hello! I so love checking the blogs almost every day of my niece's and nephews that I am going to try and make this one work. Mainly so that you can keep up with Maclain but also the rest of the family. Cassie doesn't have time to work on it now, so I will try and fill in for her.
It is so great to be able to keep up with our nieces and nephews and their children since we don't get to see them but a few times a year.
So I hope you will enjoy my post, and be patient with me while I get the hang of this..... :)
