Smoky Mtn. Trip June 2010
David & I had our "annual" trip to the mountains for our anniversary. We stayed at a bed and breakfast for the first time and really enjoyed it. The location was awesome! We just relaxed and went around the newly paved Cades Cove. It was much better! We saw deer and turkeys and about 4 bears. A mama bear crossed the road right in front of us to get to her 2 cubs that were on the other side of the road. On Friday night we went to Elkmont to see the syncronized fireflies. Never heard of it? Google it and check it out. Pretty cool. They have only been located there in the mountains and in southeast Asia. You have to go to the Sugarlands Visitor Center (get there early) and ride a trolly out to the area. They start the trollies at 7:00 and last one back is at 11:oo. It is a sight to see.
Here are some of the pics we took!
A view from the veranda of Gracehill Bed & Breakfast!
The morning view, looking down on the clouds over Townsend
A beautiful rose garden...
Waiting on the firefly "show"
